Schema Generator: build your JSON-LD in minutes.
Pick a type and fill in the form; the structured data that Google and AI search engines read is generated as you type. Organization, local business, person, article, product, event, FAQ and breadcrumb are supported. Everything runs in your browser; no data reaches us.
What is schema (structured data)?
Schema is code that describes the information on your page in a language search engines understand without guessing. “This page is an event; here is the date, the venue and where to buy tickets,” or “this is a product; here is the price, and it is in stock.” Google uses it to show rich results such as review stars, event dates and product prices.
Today schema is not only for Google. Systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews use structured data to get a business’s name, address, people or prices right. If you want your content described accurately in AI answers, schema is one of the basic steps.
Which type should I choose?
- Organization: for your company’s home page. Introduces your brand with logo, contact details and social profiles.
- Local business: for a café, shop, clinic or office with a physical address. Includes address, map location and opening hours.
- Person: for personal sites and author pages.
- Article / Blog: for blog posts and news. Author and date details signal credibility.
- Product: for e-commerce product pages. Includes price, availability and rating.
- Event: for trade shows, conferences, concerts or webinars. Includes date, venue and ticket details.
- FAQ: for question-and-answer sections.
- Breadcrumb: for the trail that shows where the page sits on your site.
How to add the code to your site
- First fill in the form and complete the required fields until no warnings remain. Keep the details identical to what is visible on the page; adding a price or rating that is not on the page breaks Google’s guidelines.
- Then with “With <script> tag” ticked, copy the code and paste it into the page’s <head> or body. On WordPress you can use a plugin such as WPCode or add a “Custom HTML” block to the page.
- Finally test the page in Google’s Rich Results Test. If there are no errors, the matching report appears in Search Console within a few days.
Good to know
Schema does not guarantee rich results; Google decides whether to show them. FAQ rich results are now shown only for government and health sites, but FAQ schema is still worth adding because it presents your content to AI systems in a tidy form. Only add ratings and reviews that are actually shown on the page and come from real customers.
The rules for which fields are required and which data types they take are adapted from the schema validation rules in Mohamed Elbahja’s open-source PHP library melbahja/seo (MIT licence). Thanks for the work.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about schema and JSON-LD.
What is the difference between JSON-LD, Microdata and RDFa?
All three are ways to add schema data to a page. Google recommends JSON-LD because it can be added as a separate block without touching the page’s HTML. This tool generates JSON-LD.
Will schema improve my rankings?
There is no direct ranking effect. But rich results can raise click-through rates, and schema helps AI systems understand your site correctly.
Can I add more than one schema to a page?
Yes. A blog post can carry Article, Breadcrumb and FAQ schema at the same time. Add each one as its own script block.
Is anything I type stored?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent to our server.
